Message from Principal Jovanovic
Dear Parents and Students,
My name is Bojan Jovanovic and I am honored to be the Principal at Wilbur Wright Middle School. This is my eighth year at WWMS. My first five were as the Dean of Students and as an Assistant Principal and now I am going into my third year as Principal. I started my career as a teacher at Munster High School where I taught Social Studies and coached boys’ basketball. I am married to my beautiful wife, Katie, have two kids, Niko and Leo, and a hyper dog named Carl. I am so grateful to the Munster community who have embraced me for all these years. This is a special place.
We have an amazing school and community that we want to continue to improve so that every single student feels comfortable, happy, and supported when they walk through our doors. Every student is different, and we need to celebrate and support those differences. We love you all. We believe in equity and inclusivity. We believe that every child deserves a world-class education. Every day our leadership team and staff are working to make WWMS an even better place.
Our goal is to make WWMS a place teachers and staff love to work and a place parents are proud to send their children. We want our students to love coming to school and to have an amazing middle school experience. This is a time in their lives when they need our support due to the physical, mental, social, and emotional changes happening to them during these middle school years. WWMS promises to be there for them. We have an amazing team of teachers, aides, social workers, school counselors, and administrators who care deeply about our students.
We are very proud to offer an exceptional academic program at Wilbur Wright that is rigorous, challenging, and accommodating to student interests. Our courses are designed to grow our students both academically and personally. We also want our students to have fun while they are at WWMS. They’re kids after all! We have over 25 after-school clubs/sports that are available for students as well as strong co-curricular music and fine arts programs. Regardless of your interests, there is something for everyone when it comes to the educational and extra-curricular programs at Wilbur Wright.
We like to have fun by celebrating holidays and by having theme days for our “Fun Friday for a Cause” every other week to raise money for local charities. Along with theme days, we like to celebrate students exhibiting the “Wright Way” Principles by awarding a student of the week for each grade level. The student of the week receives ice cream, a certificate, and a letter home. You can be next! Just follow these principles: Be Responsible, Be Unique, Be Helpful, Be Respectful, and most importantly Be Kind! We also have the Hour of Awesomeness once each quarter to celebrate our students and give our entire school a chance to have some fun doing something they love. If you are a student and have an idea of how to bring even more fun to WWMS, we are listening. Please make a suggestion and we will try it!
I love Wilbur Wright Middle School. It is an amazing place filled with an amazing staff and students. I will do everything in my power to make the parents, students, and staff proud of being a part of the WWMS family!
Go Mustangs!
